Dr Philip Wright, director general at JCQ, said:
‘Following the Secretary of State’s announcement on January 6 2021, we are working with both the DfE and Ofqual on the development of the fairest possible way of assessing students. It is important that any alternative assessment methods avoid disadvantaging students sitting all qualifications. Exam boards will be responding to Ofqual’s forthcoming consultation on summer 2021 assessments in due course.’
