Key Dates

September 2018 – Pilot for Vocational Qualifications
Academic years 2019-2021 – Rollout for Vocacational Qualifications

Some JCQ Awarding Organisations will continue to use EDI for General Qualifications (GCSE and GCE); there is therefore currently no defined cutoff for EDI.

September 2015 – February 2016

We have completed a small but very successful pilot of A2C with Capita SIMS, involving CCEA, WJEC and OCR in Northern Ireland and Wales: these Awarding Organisations processed all the entries made via A2C for a variety of qualifications, and the results were returned through A2C in January 2016.

November 2017

Awarding Organisations upgraded encryption and ready to support MIS integrated transport. MIS with integrated transport started rollout to customers. This will mean that you will be able to send and receive messages from within your MIS rather than having to export/import files between your MIS and the A2C Migration Application.

Please contact your MIS supplier to find out when they will have an upgrade available. Some MIS will be offering an integrated transport upgrade before implementing A2C transactions.

November 2017-August 2018

MIS and AOs testing the integration of their systems.

Some centres involved in the pilot will be user testing and all centres involved in the pilot preparing for their MIS upgrade.

Academic Year 2018-19: Vocational Qualifications Pilot

This will involve OCR, Pearson, C&G, NCFE, SQA. Pearson general qualifications will also be available through A2C.

Please contact your MIS supplier if you would like to be involved in the pilot.

Academic Years 2019-20: Vocational Qualifications Rollout

Please contact your MIS supplier to find out when they will have an upgrade available.
